COMPUTERS
Hardware: Everything on a computer connects to the mother board.
CPU (Central Processing Unit): Heat of the computer and to execute programs and instruction cycles. They handle many tasks quickly. Process one task by one task.
GPU (Graphics Processing Units): Prosses graphics and images (they render videos smooth and clear images), lightens the load for the CPU. Process at the same time.
A computer is a electronic devise that has mainly uses, but mainly it does four basic processes.
Input: The information that goes to the computer by actions that we do through: mouses, keyboard.
Storage: The information that entered the computer is storaged in a HDD or a SSD.
Output: After all the proccess, the modified data comes out of the computer as a sound, a image on a monitor, etc.
Processing: The raw data turns into useful information in the CPU.
Software
Types:
System Software: Program that is the middle layer between hardware and apps. Opening systems (Mac OS, Windows OS, Unix). Receive input and convert them to computer language.
Programming Language Software: Used to create programs, scripts or instructions the are run by the computer. Each one has a set of rules and syntax. Two basic types: High-level (closer to a human language) Low-level (Machine language).
Instructions and data that tell a computer what to do.
Apps Software: Sofware for specific tasks (watching videos, writing, listening to music). Runs on the opening system. Microsoft Office/iWork, Chrome/Firefox, Spotify.
Memory
SDD (Solid State Drive): Microchip memory storage. Inteligent processor, more efficient.
RAM (Random-Access Memory): Volatile memory (temporary data/data od programs that are in constant use). Super-fast, high-speed.
HDD (Hard Drive Disc): Stores information permanently. Magnetic system of storage.
