Present Continuous is formed with the verb 'to be' as auxiliary and the gerund form of the mean verb (-ing).

When one-syllable verbs end in a consonant (except W;X; Y) preceded by a vowel, its consonant is doubled before adding in ING; e.g.: sit- sitting
When the verb ends in the consonant "Y" having before it a consonant, ING is added without adding any change. e.g: study- studying
