        mountains are described as touching the heavens- proves that nature is the gateway to achieving eternal happiness and how it is almost the bridge between 2 worlds, kiss is a loving and warm embrace and high almost emphasises the grandeur effect of nature within the world. Mountains symbolises a journey - how possibly over time we have become more reliant and dependent on nature to solve our issues .
        The use of heaven could suggest that nature is a panacea to almost escape the cruel reality that the earth gives us of eventually dying
        How all living things eventually die and they decompose and return nature and it shows how nature almost guides us to heaven as it takes away our bodies and carries our emotions in their true form through the journey of life to heaven.

        Within 'Love's Philosophy' and 'Sonnet 29' both poets convey the sheer power of nature and how it constantly has a tight grasp on all living things. Firstly, in 'Love's Philosophy' Shelley uses personification to illustrate how nature contains a high level of strength and the potential it contains could be comparable to 'heaven' itself. For instance in the quote 'the mountains kiss high heaven' the phrase illustrates the close relationship between nature and heaven. The verb kiss emphasises the intimacy between the two entities and perhaps demonstrates the powerful bond and symbolism nature has when poets write romantically about love. Furthermore, the adjective 'high' highlights the grand amount of power that nature has and the impactful effects that it has within the world. However, in 'Sonnet 29' Browning uses symbolism to depict nature as strong rooted and almost simplistic which highlights the pureness of her love for her partner. For example in 'O my palm-tree' Browning could have specifically used a palm tree to symbolise the reliability which she feels from her partner; palm trees are stable and strong during tough winds, suggesting how Browning feels through harder moments of her life her partner is a dependable source, perhaps alike to nature which is a source that all living things rely on .
  - - - Within Climbing my Grandfather, Waterhouse mentions 'glassy ridge of a scar', the adjective 'glassy' has connotations of fragility, breakability and vulnerability. However, glass is also know for its moldable properties and how it can endure extreme temperatures, just like the reflective nature of glass, this presentation of glass is reiterated within CMG as the familial bonds within the poem display how family perhaps is something that is reliable within the toughest and most unpredictable of moments. Perhaps this method was intentionally used by Waterhouse as he studied the environment within his youth ; within his studies, he would have seen how different parts of an ecosystem depend on each other to thrive. He possible coveys this throughout his poetry using familial bonds as a tool to present how family connections can allow oneself to thrive and develop throughout life. This further reiterated thought the noun 'ridge' which is a edge that is typically used to gain a grip to become more mobile. Likewise, the use of the noun in CMG suggests how family bonds are something that are built upon a supportive network and how perhaps they will always provide guidance within a troubling situation.

'Yet' is also the Volta within the poem which illustrates how Browning meeting her partner was the turning point within her life and it reinforces how they truly worship and idolise there lover. Traditionally palm trees symbolise strength and holiness as they are mentioned in the bible as well.

        which insphere thee suggests how nature is the source of inspiration and life. 'Greenery' convey the extended metaphor. Browning's thoughts are like foliage around the tree and she was inspired like many other poets by the theme of Nature. The constant repetition of thee shows how her thoughts go back to her lover repeatedly - almost cyclical
    - - Browning exchanged 500 letters and married to author of Porphyria's Lover. Disowned by her farther and secretly married in Italy.
  - - - 'sun was white' - The sun has been muted/bleached of all life sun has warmer tones of colours usually. The grey scale of colour helps represent destruction and represents the past pure love he used to have, how the author is writing the poem to find peace.
        'like an ominous bird a wing - 'the adjective 'ominous' creates a sense of foreboding through the connotations of the word as it conveys a sense of mystery and doubt amongst the relationship they have.
        'And a pond edged with greyish leaves - 'The pond could reflect the narrators life as they have a round rim which reflects the cyclical nature of the poem and further highlights the end of his relationship and love. greyish leaves are often plentiful in winter and the dulled out colour scheme could represent his countless failed relationships in the past.

  - - - 'I hear thy name spoken/And share in it's shame'
        The first personal pronoun I is showcased more than the 3rd personal pronoun 'Thy' illustrating how the persona is possibly fixated on there own self pity as they know there partner will find peace within there own death however their own demise with be forever being caught up in the endless cycle of failed relationships which is mirrored in the cyclical structure of the poem.
        'How should I greet thee?/ in silence and tears'
        
        ''Why wert thou so dear?'' - The rhetorical question illustrates the frustration and the anger of the persona within the text, perhaps because of the deep feelings the had for their partner and how it is only it this moment that they see the disposability of their love . This could possibly leave them wondering why they tried so hard to succeed in their relationship and the rhetorical question further emphasises the many questions they have about love that will never be answered. This could have been a purposeful choice by Bryon to reiterate his own frustration with his own love life.
    - - Bryon was married but partner left a year later due to rumours of affairs and increased debt. Fell into unrequited love and love life was plagued with affairs
    - - The internal monologue shows what he would like to say as it showcases how the personas thoughts are more focused on himself than anything and it brings together and presents his own pure thoughts and feelings that are organic and unedited.
  - - - 'glassy ridge of a scar' - the noun scar is known to hold stories of the past which are are from a persons darker part of their past, conveys how the persona in the poem still has the power to remain strong after so many year has passed. Could be Waterhouse trying to convey how he wished he had the same power when he was younger to take care of the environment.
        'the skin of his finger is smooth and thick like warm ice' - the oxymoron of warm ice is impossible and could not happen in reality, this conveys the impossibilities and challenges through life that are hard to overcome and fully gain a grasp of it . The simile that compares the finger to ice shows how Waterhouse realises that time is fragile and that the the 'warm ice' will eventually melt and return to its original state illustrating how he does not want to let go of the rare features of his persona. Could be the reason why he bought a 10 acre are of land as Waterhouse maybe felt he had more control over the land and could be one of the inspirations of his writing .

  - - - 'pouring'- fluid movement, which exemplifies the free flowing nature of love and how love is continuous and how the author is pouring their heart out within the poem

        both are essential for living and Dooley feels that letters cleanse away the burden of reality with positive connotations . Could relate to her life as a writer for the news . Light suggests a spiritual connection and how letters are a way of creating continuity within a relationship and securing a bond
      - 'envelope'- letters are a traditional form of carrying messages and how people would place trust and emotions in this. Carries a certain amount of uncertainty as contents could be unknown. Sealed suggesting protected, and the messaged is nurturing and caring.
    - - metaphor to exaggerate how distant she feels from others and from Yorkshire itself. Could allude to how she has distanced herself from others because of her career as a result of being a writer. The idea that she wishes to escape reality through writing letters to 'another world' as she is burdened by mundanity of life and the perhaps polluted city she lives in because of her job. She cherishes the relationship she has with Yorkshire, and to maintain this she writes letters.
    - - Tercets- suggesting that there is something that gets in the way of the connection between the pair, or separates them apart from each other, suggesting how unstable the relationship is. Or -tercets show that relationships don't have to be perfect to still be strong as the poem is consistently made out of Tercets. Enjambments shows the strong connection the people have despite distance . Contrasts physical distance between stanzas and shows that despite separation the pair have a deep rooted connection with each other.
