Prevention
Vegetable should be throughly washed and properly cooked
Pollution of soil with human faeces should be avoided
Keeping good sanitation conditions
Finger nails should be regularly cut to avoid the collection of dirt and eggs below them
Hands should be properly washed with some antieptic soap before touching edibles or eating
Morphology
Sexes are seperate
Female-20 to 35 cm long
Male-15 to 30 cm
It is elongated,cylindrical and tapering at both ends
Mode of transmission
Occasionally by inhalation of contaminated dust with eggs
Children playing in contaminated soil may acquire the parasite from their hands
Occurs mainly by ingestion of contaminated food or water with eggs
Diagnosis
The sputum examination: for seeing larva during migration in the lung
Eosinophilla as ibdicator on parasitic infection
The stool examination: for seeing the adult worm or egg
Characteristics
Female
posterior end is straight
spicules and papillae are absent
Ivory mixed light red colour
Male
Reddish pink in color
posterior end is curved
spicules and papillae are present
