Preparing for Emergencies
Responding to Injury
Because it may be hard for people to learn skills that they may not even need to use, it would be easier to design a product that could be used by anyone without training. I have decided to go with a portable First Aid Kit idea instead of a first aid kit that could be more easily used as it would be more inexpensive and could be more easily used.
First Aid kits
Portable first aid kits
Small pocket sized first aid kits
First aid kit phone case
Pocket sized sack of first aid materials
Easy to use first aid kits
First Aid kits that are quick to use and that are placed on sides of remote paths to allow the user to treat a patient quickly without external aid
A quick to administer remedy
A tool to inject painkillers
Easy to use bandaid
Training
I believe that training people to do specific tasks is as important as actually preparing for an emergency with supplies. This can come in the form of a tool to be able to practice an action, such as CPR, repetitively to be then used in an emergency.
First Aid Training
Having a tool to teach First Aid Easily, this is essential as training can sometimes be expensive or inaccessible to certain people
Learning how to Contact people when in an emergency
A tool to contact emergency responders in an emergency
CPR
A tool to easily learn to do CPR, this would be useful as in the case of an emergency, where someone has stopped breathing. People might not have enough
A machine to automatically perform CPR
Learning how to tend to a wound
A tool to easily put on a bandaid
Preperations
Though not talked about often, preparing for the worst is a crucial part of preparing for emergencies, this is because during an emergency we may not be able to get access to certain resources that we might need to improve our current situation. This means that guides to how to prepare adequate amounts of equipment are crucial.
Having Extra Materials
A larger bag being able to specialise in carrying essentials, such as water, food
A tool to make drinkable water (purifier) in a case where there is no water
Contacting Responders
Though we may have the correct amount of preparations to respond to an emergency as well as possible, we may still find ourselves having trouble using the equipment that we have prepared after we have brought it, thereby making it a waste of space and energy.
Calling for Help
pocket sized button for calling emergency services, this would be useful in the case of an emergency as the user won't have to rely on a mobile phone to contact emergency responders
Attracting Attention
Pocket Sized Flare, a pocket sized flare would
Whistle, whistles are essential as it could make relatively loud sounds and taking up a relatively small amount of space.
Pocket Flash Light, This would be useful in the case of an emergency as they would need to see in the dark if something were to happen, it would also be good if the flashlight was waterproof
