Obesity is a complex disease involving an excessive amount of body fat. Obesity isn't just a cosmetic concern. It is a medical problem that increases your risk of other diseases and health problems, such as heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure and certain cancers
Obesity. Pacific people are disproportionately affected by chronic diseases caused by smoking, poor diet and physical inactivity. Several studies have shown that more than 65% of Pacific people are obese. Obesity is one of the major causes of poor health, especially diabetes, for adult Pacific people.

In Vanuatu, incest is still considered an infraction for girls ages 15 or older. This means that a young girl who is sexually abused by a parent will be treated as guilty by the law, not as the victim.
