Introduction to the case method: The case technique already has a long history in teaching. If the word “case” is considered in its broad sense, it can be said that in education it has always been used as an example or practical problem. Casuistry, for example, typical of medieval scholastic philosophy, is nothing but the application of the case to solve moral or religious problems, but without entering into the analysis of the previous social or psychological situation (López, 1997).
