What is it
For a bill to pass in the Legislative Assembly, vote needed to be held in both Canada East and Canada West
The French and the Canadians could never agree on anything so this caused a political deadlock
Lead to confederation
Canada West and Canada East had equal representatives in the Legislative Assembly
Both groups took turns in discussion but they could never come to a conclusion, which lead to the political deadlock
