Glomerular Disease
Nephrotic Syndrome
FSGS
Secondary FSGS
Hyperfiltration INjury
Occurs with obesity
Associated with history of premature birth or solitary kidney
Podocyte detachment and death
Membranous Glomerulopathy
Minimal Change Glomerulopathy
Diabetic Nephropathy
Nephritic Syndrome
IgA Nephroapthy
Rapidly Progressive Glomerulonephritis
Granular Immunofluorescence
ANCA Associated Glomerulonephritis
Pauci Immune Immunofluorescence
Lupus nephritis
Infection Related Glomerulonephritis
Classic Post Strep Glomerulonephritis
Hypocomplementemia, Elevated antistrep O, antistreptokinase, antihyaluronidase, antideoxyribonuclease B
Dx: Kidney biopsy -- subepithelial electron dense deposits
Latent period between resolution of strep infection and nephritic syndrome (7-10 days if oropharyngeal infection and 2-4 weeks after skin infections)
Staph Aureus
C3, IgA
Subepithelial hump like deposits
IgA Nephropathy
Myeloproliferative glomerulnephritis
Immune complex forms (classic complement pathway)
Classically hep C
Complement mediated forms
Rx: Steroids, C5 monoclonal ab - eculizumab
Cryoglobulinemia glomerulonephritis
LInear Immunofluorescence
Anti GBM Disease
