INTRODUCTION
• Has been started since 1890 in Malaysia
• Vocational means an organizational effort to train students in basic knowledge, skills and be willing to work as skills workers
• TVET provide a systematic specialize training.
DEVELOPMENT
• Early of formulating TVET system was focus on skill and technical
• Now, personality building a person has become more important
• TVET more emphasis on the aspect of technical skill and technical knowledge
TVET OBJECTIVES
• To provide the needs of man power for the markets demand
• Increase the choice in educating the students
• Service as a motivation medium at higher lever to improve multi-way
in instructing and learning.
HISTORY OF TVET IN MALAYSIA
DIVIDED INTO 4 PHASES
Before the Second World War (1900 - 1940)
During the Japanese Occupation (1941 -1945)
After the Second World War (1945 - 1960)
Year 1960 - present
TVET IMPROVEMENT
• Improve perceptions of TVET and attract more students
• Developing a more effective teaching force
• Enhance and harmonize curriculum with industry needs
