KWM x ED Collab #1
Idea #1
Components
Water body
Ink spillages - various colours to sympobilse impurity, chemicals and pollution.
We have yet to decide the scale of the water body but we are leaning towards a puddle-like pool of water beneath the overhanging tee.
We want to emphasise the toxicity of plastic pollution and chemical leakages so we will feature a number of dead marine animals.
-
To represent death, we thought of adding red crosses over the eyes as an abstract graphic element. In colour psychology red is often used to represent death as it is associated with blood and danger.
Tee
Eroded towards the bottom. Dust-like microplastics crumbling from the main tee and entering the water body.
-
Must make sure the dust particles aren't too small otherwise they may be too fine for the printer to pick up.
Arm
A wealthy, rich and careless individual to represent the industry as a whole.
The arm will be well dressed with a blazer, white shirt and an expensive watch to compliment the outfit. This represents wealth and business.
-
This composition will sit within a 14" x 16" print. Thus far we have decided this design will revolve around fast fashion and the damages inflicted by the industry on the marine environment
-
Criticisms
This design may lean slightly more towards the activism side of the spectrum as it is showing dead animals as a result of an industry most of our audience are likely funding.
Idea # 3
This composition will sit within a 14" x 14" square print. Thus far we have decided this design will revolve around fast fashion and the damages inflicted by the industry on the marine environment
-
Overview
This composition will sit within a circular shaped glass fish bowl. This design will be quite abstract and aesthetically powerful. It will have t shirts floating around as if they are fish. The bowl will symbolise oceans around the world. The water body will consist of various colours to symbolise impurity, chemicals and pollution - this will also add intense colouration and patterning to the design.
Criticisms
The meaning behind this design might not be clear at first glance. This could be a good thing as the strong visuals will attract the viewer and the message may become clearer shortly after?
Idea #2
