Constitution
A set of rules and regulations according to which a country is governed is called constitution.
The fundamental laws of governing India are in Constitution of India.
Constitution of India is the supreme law of India.
Constituent Assembly
In 1946 a special assembly called Constituent Assembly was formed.
The main task on seven-member committee was to create the constitution.
The Chairman of Drafting Committee was Dr. B.R Ambedkar.
India began to follow new constitution from 26th January, 1950. This day is celebrated as Republic Day.
Preamble
The word ‘preamble’ mean an introduction.
The Preamble of our constitution has some words which shows that citizens of India are provided
To make sure that the ideas of Preamble are put into practice the constitution has guidelines, or instructions, to help governments. These are called Directive Principles of State Policy.
