TYPES OF CONGRUENCE - Coggle Diagram
TYPES OF CONGRUENCE
SSS(Side-Side-Side)
- The three sides of one triangle are equal to the three sides of another triangle
-
AAS(Angle-Angle-Side)
- When two angles and a non-included side of a triangle are equal to the corresponding angles and sides of another triangle, then the triangles are said to be congruent.
Example
-
b. Side AC = 10 cm, angle C = 60 degrees and angle B = 50 degrees
c. Side DF = 10 cm, angle F = 60 degrees and angle E = 50 degrees
-
SAS (Side-Angle-Side)
- If two sides and the angle included between them of a triangle are equal to two corresponding sides and the angle included between them of another triangle, then the triangles are congruent.
Example
-
b. Side AB = 9 cm, angle B = 60 degrees and BC = 10 cm
c. Side PQ = 9 cm, angle Q = 60 degrees and QR = 10 cm
-
ASA(Angle-Side-Angle)
- If two angles and the included side of one triangle are equal to two angles and the included side of other triangle.
Example
-
b. Side AB = 10 cm, angle A = 60 degrees and angle B = 50 degrees
c. Side XY = 10 cm, angle X = 60 degrees and angle Y = 50 degrees
