IN MANAGING A CONDUCIVE LEARNING ENVIRONMENT
Teacher As A Counsellor
Provides an opportunity for students to share, talk, discuss things, conflicts, opinions and problems with the teachers.
Helping students in adjusting to their surrounding environment.
Example: Students may share problems about friends, family conflicts, or involving mental health such as stress and anxiety.
Effect:
Improve students mental health and the ability to cope with problems and conflicts.
Encourage good behavior in and outside the classroom.
Create more social interaction between teacher and students and between the peers.
Teacher As A Role Model
Reinforce by showing students the passion for learning as well as passion to be the best in ourselves.
Teacher act as a role model in term of good behavior and attitude for the students to follow.
Effect:
Students become more confidence and have more self-esteem.
Students actively participate in classroom activities.
A role model is a person who inspires and encourages to strive for the best. It is someone who we admire and we aspire to be like.
Teacher As A Learner
Learner is a person who is always find new things to learn and never claim to be knowledgable.
Use the opportunity during the teaching and learning process to challenge a new task to become a better teacher.
Always be humble and do not be shy to learn from the students.
Effect:
Increase teacher's experience in handling the students.
Be able to apply different theory for different environment and different learning styles.
Teacher As A Tutor
Provide help in students academic performance.
Example: Explaining a topic, question and answers sessions and help in improving skills and techniques.
Monitor students progression individually or in a small group.
Ensure that every students have the best opportunity to successfully complete the task or assignments given.
Effect:
Improve academic performance.
Increase understanding on harder topic.
Develop team work between group member.
Teacher As A Creator of Communal Atmosphere
Communal atmosphere is a feeling established by instilling a sense of community among the students in the classroom.
Take note the interest of each students and their relationship in the classroom.
Provide care in every aspect such as academic, physical and emotional aspect.
When students aware of teacher's care, they will express an effort to please the teacher.
Effect:
Students treat each other the way teacher treat them.
Encourage positive behavior in the classroom.
Minimize negative feedback.
Teacher As A Planner
Define the rules and routine in the classroom as well as the goal.
Create a neat, save and organized environment for teacher to teach and students to learn.
Making an appropriate demands, give clear instructions and keep it consistent through out the year.
Effect:
Appropriate time management.
Developing understanding between the student and the teacher.
Providing learning materials and activities that are effective for the students.
