PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT
Keep the classroom clean and tidy
Decorate the class with colourful decorations
Examples:
Colourful wall decorations & informative bulletin board
Prepare a duty roster where each student need to play their parts every day
Examples:
Arrange the desks, wipe the window, & free the floor from rubbish
Benefit:
Students will be more motivated to learn and engage with the classroom activities
Use suitable seating arrangement
Benefit:
Encourage students-students interaction
Arrange and adapt the seating layout according to the activity and not stick to one seating plan throughout the year
Examples:
Open U-shaped arrangement & small circles
Allow areas for group work and hands-on learning centers
PSYCHOSOCIAL ENVIRONMENT
Provide
feedbacks
Give feedbacks and comments to keep the students on right track
Examples:
One-on-one conversations, written feedbacks, mentoring sessions
Benefit:
The teacher will be able to interact with individual students in a 'mutually beneficial way'
Address students needs
Involve students in collaborative work and discussion
Benefit:
Maximises engagement and promote ownership of learning
Understand individual learning styles
Foster positive teacher-student relationship
Speak personally to students to get to know each other individually
Benefit:
Lesser tendency for them to create discipline problems in the classroom
Act as role model
Model ideal and appropriate responses to their peers, parents and students
Teacher must be friendly and tolerant towards the students as it will reinforce and set the expectation of student behaviour

Encourages students to respect teachers and be free with them
CLASSROOM RULES & ROUTINES
Use reinforcements and punishments
Give students who do their works well some praises and rewards to motivate them to do better
Punish students who behave badly in order to make it clear to them that their behaviour is unacceptable
Benefit:
The students will eventually become aware of their choices and its consequences, thus become more disciplined
Encourage students to be kind to each other
Encourage students to develop positive routines
Example:
Greet and smile at each other every time they interact
Benefit:
Foster positive relationships among themselves
