Which is better:
Buying or Adopting pets?
Not So Good Things Adoption
Usually if you’re looking
for a specific breed, it may
be a bit difficult to find in the
shelters where you adopt
If you’re looking for a puppy or kitten
it might be a little hard to find them.
You’ll have to settle for older dogs and cats
You’ll most likely not be raising the pet from a young age,
lots of pets in the shelter have a different history that
you might not know of, even when you adopt it, the shelters might not know much either
Good Things About Adoption
Shelter and rescue staff will most likely know the pet’s health, nature and how it might fit in with your lifestyle
You will often find that the pet is pretrained
Adopting pets is less expensive, you could save money
Not So Good Things About Buying(from a retailer or breeder)
In general, you would find that these pets are more expensive than the ones up for adoption - forget about that new bag, get a dog instead
You need to double check the retailer you’re buying from, just to make sure you get a good quality pet and you’re not getting scammed with a sick or injured one.
The pets (from the worse retailers) are not looked after in the proper manner. Some stores don’t take care of their needs like: veterinary care, keeping animals in unsanitary conditions, and in humane ways of disposing unwanted or sick dogs
Good Things About Buying (from a retailer or breeder)
You get to play with and see the pet before you buy it
You know more about the dog; responsible retailers will know their dogs well
The retailers will know about everything that happened to this pet in its lifetime up until the point you get the dog.
Conclusion:
Quote:
“A dog is the only thing that loves you more that he loves himself” Josh Billings
I have a dog too, she’s white and fluffy.I bought her and for some time I wondered if we should’ve adopted. But we had a good retailer and our dog was kept by a loving owner who struggled to say goodbye. This told me that she cared dearly for this dog and I had nothing to worry about.
But to be honest, I feel like adopting is way better. The pets you’re adopting are rescued pets that needs homes. It’ll be easy to love any pet, young or old, brown or grey. Pets are the best companions for us.
