Data Protection Act 1998: The DPA is an act that protects your data that is stored on computers and also stored in filling.
The 8 principles are:
Processing personal information fairly and lawfully
Processing personal data for specified purposes only

The DPA involves:
The Information Commissioner is the person who has powers to enforce the Act.
The Data Controller is an organization or individual what data the organization is legally allowed to collect.
The data subject is the person who has given the data and has no control over where or how it is being stored.
It controls how things such as videos and pictures are controlled.
The copyright law protects the owners of their creations by being able to punish and give out consequences to people who violate the copyright laws.
Copyleft is when you can make changes in an open source, for example Linux.

Attribution-NonCommerical-ShareALike - is when you can remix etc., and work non commercially and then as long as they credit you and the license.
Attribution-NonCommerical-NoDerivs - means you can only download the content and only share with others as long as they credit you.
