Data protection
The purpose of the data protection act is to protect people who have had information stored about them.
There are rules for people who store and use your information. These are, data must be used fairly and lawfully, data can only be use for the purposes that were stated at collection, data can only be accessed by authorized users, data must be accurate and up to date, data must be kept safe and secure.
Freedom of information
The Freedom Of Information Act 200 gives individuals and organisations the right to request official information held by over 100,000 public bodies.
