The oxygen enters by the nose, then the larynx, the windpipe and finally arrives at the lungs. On the lungs, it passes through the bronchi, bronchioles, and alveoli. At this time, gas exchange occurs. The alveoli are filled with oxygen. The places with high concentrations (alveoli) move to places with low concentrations (red blood cells), the diffusion not only happens with oxygen but also with the CO2 that the red blood cells have. Now the red blood cells are oxygenated, and they carry the oxygen to all the organs and the organs give them the CO2, here is happening the diffusion. This process is called gas exchange.
