Sociocultural Influences on Adolescents
Family
Socioemotional
The most important influence on a child's socialemotional development comes from families. Families naturally fulfill this responsibility by simply being responsive to their child's needs and providing a safe environment to grow and learn.
Physical
Parents can influence an adolescent's diet. Families usually eat meals together so they affect what the teen gets to eat.
Cognitive
Families teach how to learn that the interactions between you and them is what they will carry for the rest of their life in regards to how to treat others. Through this socialization with family, adolescents will learn how to trust, seek friendships from others, and find comfort with others as well.
Friends
Physical
Friends can influence you to engage in physical activity. Studies reported that adolescents have more intense physical activity when in the company of peers or close friends.
Socioemotional
Friendships enable teenagers to learn more about themselves and develop their own identity. And, as children mature, friends are able to help reduce stress and navigate challenging developmental experiences.
Cognitive
Being in the "popular" groups in adolescence elevates self-esteem into young adult life. During adolescence mature pattern of friendship develops with deepening trust and intimacy and increased pattern of empathy. Statistically you spend more time with friends than family during your years of adolescents.
Social Media
Physical
Using social media for too long can affect your eyesight in a bad way. Social media can also make you lose motivation to do other physical activities, but at the same time it can be encouraging towards it.
Socioemotional
Social media can affect social interaction, and various emotions by allowing you to look into the lives of other people, and interact with them online. This can both be positive, and negative since meeting good people will make your social skills better, but some people may insult you and lower your self esteem.
Cognitive
Social media can make your attention span shorter. At the same time it can give you a wide variety of knowledge to work with.
School
Physical
School can help you get a decent amount of exercise by making you travel to school, and making you learn PE. A lot of teenagers will engage in physical activities with their friends as well.
Socioemotional
You can get social influences by the norms of the school. Most of the times you will be effected by how your teachers and friends behave.
Cognitive
You develop skills, and gain more knowledge from learning in class. You might also get better at processing, and learning.
Summary
School, family, friends, and social media all effect adolescents in different ways. These four factors shape everything about a person. I think the factor that shapes adolescents the most is school. Statistically you spend more time at school than at home with your family during your adolescent years. You interact with friends at school too so I would say school and friends affect you in almost the same way.
