RULES
Each, every and one of and etc
When the subjects follow the phrase and words such as "each", "every" and "one of" a singular verb is used.
Examples: Each of the human is responsible for their own future.
However if these words and phrase comes after a compound subject a plural verb is used instead.
Examples: Each of the humans are responsible for their own future.
Collective noun
It takes a singular verb when used to refer a group
Examples: The team wins all the competitions
It takes a plural verb when it is used to refer to the members in a group
Example: The team are working very hard for the competition
Singular & Plural
A singular subject is followed by a singular verb.
Examples:
He walks at the park every morning.
The cat has thick fur
A plural subject is followed by a plural verb.
Examples:
We do not know the answer.
They have three children.
When two subjects are joined by
"neither .... nor"
or
"Either .... or"
=
The verb agrees with the subject nearest to it.
Examples:
Neither Ali nor Baba knows the password.
Are either your daughters or your sons studying overseas?

"And, All but, Both-and"
When the subjects are separated by "and", "all but", "both-and", a plural verb is used.
Example:
All but Sulaiman have left Kuala Lumpur for Hari Raya.
Both Haikal and Syafiq are enjoying the scenery.
Rita and Rajoo are going to the party.
