Intrinsic - doing an activity for enjoyment.
Extrinsic - doing an activity to attain an outcome, get a reward, or avoid a punishment.
Why do some individuals give up easily?
Learned helpless orientation - the perception, acquired through negative experiences, that effort has no affect on outcome.
What contributes to the feeling of being in control?
Self-efficacy - the belief that one can master a situation and produce positive outcome.
