- - - - Our school doesn't really cater for special needs students but if a student does have a learning disability and wants to attend the school, the administration will make a concerted effort to find and provide the services necessary to assist with the student.
- - - - If the team determines that the student is eligible for special education services, then a formal Individualized Education Program (IEP) team will be formed to develop a plan of special education services for the student.
    - - Come up with an Individualized Education Program for the student. This should be agreed upon between the parents and the school. This should provide a clear outline and include all the specifics and expectations the program entails.
    - - Evaluation carried out by a diverse team of experts who measure the student's: intelligence; achievement; behaviour; disability-specific issues; medical
    - - School personnel should provide documentation of the mastery of benchmarks and annual goals.
    - - School personnel make referral of student for determination of eligibility of special education services.
    - - Pre-referral intervention is to identify, develop, and implement alternative education strategies for students who have recognized problems in the classroom before the student is referred to special education.
        If this doesn't resolve the issue proceed to Phase 3.
    - - Every year the IEP team should meet up to evaluate the implementation of the current IEP and to develop the next annual IEP.
    - - The recognition of a discrepancy in the student’s academic, social/emotional, behavioral, and/or physical ability and his or her age may signal the need for additional academic or behavioral supports.
        
        Hold a meeting with the guardians to establish if the issues are recurrent or new; if the issues are constant; if the issue is appropriate for a child of that age.
        If the issue cannot be solved with a cooperative strategic plan between the parents and teacher proceed to Phase 2.
