Act Summaries
Act 1
Act 1 began with the Birling's having a dinner to celebrate Shiela'a and Gerald's engagment. Mr Birling goes of on a political tangent about war, capitalism and the Titanic.
The Inspector arrives and claims that a girl (Eva Smith) has died --> drunk a lot of strong disinfectant.
The Inspector interrogates Mr Birling and we find out that she once worked for him. We find out the he fired Eva because she wanted a higher wage and lead a strike.
Sheila comes in and asks what is happening. She asks about her looks and this shows what sheila cares about.
We find out that Sheila got Eva fired from Milwards as she thought she was laughing at her when she tried on a dress that didn't suit her but suited Eva.
At the end we find out while Gerald was away in the summer he had an affair with Daisy Renton, who had changed her name from Eva Smith.
Act 3
Eric is interrogated for his role in Eva's death. We find out that Eric took advantage of Eva, before attempting to hand her £50 in stolen money from his father, of which Eva declines

Mr Birling calls up the infirmary and finds out nobody by the name of Eva Smith has committed suicide
Mr Birling, Mrs Birling and Gerald act as if they did nothing wrong, and they don't take anything from it
They get a phonecall, saying a girl had committed suicide, and that a police inspector was coming to question them. Curtain falls
Act 2
Gerald Croft is interrogated and we find out the he had an affair with Eva last summer when he was 'too busy at work' to see Shelia. Shelia hands Gerald back the engagement ring and says that they need to start their relasionship again
Mrs Birling is interrogated about her involvement with Eva and we find out the che rejected her appealing for help at a charity that Mrs BIrling is on the board for
Mrs Birling then goes on to talk about how she thinks that the husband of Eva is at blame and how he should be responsible for everything and that he should be forced to publicly admit to what he has done.
