Quadrilaterals
A Quadrilateral has four-sides, it is 2-dimensional (a flat shape), closed (the lines join up), and has straight
Rectangle
A rectangle is a quadrilateral with four right angles. It can also be defined as: an equiangular quadrilateral, since equiangular means that all of its angles are equal; or a parallelogram containing a right angle. A rectangle with four sides of equal length is a square.

Trapezium/ Trapezoid
A convex quadrilateral with at least one pair of parallel sides is referred to as a trapezium in English outside North America, but as a trapezoid in American and Canadian English. Wikipedia
Area: ½ x (sum of the lengths of the parallel sides) x perpendicular distance between parallel sides
Perimeter: sum of lengths of sides of trapezoid
Number of vertices: 4
Number of edges: 4
Properties: Convex polygon
Type: Quadrilateral
Line of symmetry: 0
Kite
A kite is a quadrilateral that has 2 pairs of equal adjacent sides. The angles where the adjacent pairs of sides meet are equal. There are two types of kites- convex kites and concave kites. Convex kites have all their interior angles less than 180°, whereas, concave kites have at least one of the interior angles greater than 180°
Square
A square is a regular quadrilateral, which means that it has four equal sides and four equal angles. It can also be defined as a rectangle in which two adjacent sides have equal length. A square with vertices ABCD would be denoted square ABCD.
Area: (side)²
Perimeter: 4 x side
Number of vertices: 4
Number of edges: 4
Internal angle: 90°
Properties: Equilateral polygon, Convex polygon, Isotoxal figure, Isogonal figure, Cyclic
Type: Regular polygon
Parallelogram
A parallelogram is a simple quadrilateral with two pairs of parallel sides. The opposite or facing sides of a parallelogram are of equal length and the opposite angles of a parallelogram are of equal measure.
