Endocrine system
:checkered_flag:
Adrenal cortex
Mineralocorticoid : it is a class of steroid that regulate the salt and water in the body
Glucocorticoid: it regulates the essential body functions in mammals, control cell growth and growth differentiation
Hypothalamus
Anterior pituitary :
Posterior pituitary:
Pineal gland
Melatonin
Melatonin is a hormone produced by the pineal gland at night that serves as a control the biological clock and promoting the sleep
Thyroid gland
Calcitonin ( decrease Ca3+) : it regulates the calcium and phosphate level in the blood opposing the action of parathyroid hormone that means decrease the calcium levels in the blood
T3 and T4 metabolism: the thyroid produce a hormone called triiodothyronine known as T3 and thyroxine known as T4 together these hormone regulate the body temperature, metabolism and heart rate
Parathyroid gland :
PTH increase ca: parathyroid is release the calcium by bones into the bloodstream and absorption of calcium from food by the intestine.
Pancreas
Insulin: the main role of insulin is control the glucose levels in our body
Glucagon: it is a 29 amino acid peptide hormone secreted from the alpha cells of the pancreas. Stimulate the glucose production and thereby increase the blood glucose level
Adrenal medulla
Epinephrine: epinephrine is commonly known as adrenaline is a hormone secreted by medulla of adrenal gland strong emotions such as fear and anger is controlled by epinephrine
Norepinephrine: Together with adrenaline norepinephrine is also having the same function Play an important roles in fight flight and release into the bloodstream cause increase blood pressure, heart rate etc.
