German
German belongs to the West Germanic branch of the Germanic family of Indo-European languages and is the only official language of Germany, Austria and Liechtenstein, as well as one of the official languages of Switzerland, Belgium and Luxembourg, and includes dozens of dialects within the two branches of Highland German and Lowland German.
