2.4 Stakeholders
Definition
An individual or group that BA is likely to interact with directly or indirectly
Elements
BA
Each task includes list of stakeholders who are likely to participate in execution of task or who will be affected by it
Not mandate that these roles be filled for any given initiative
List is not exhaustive, many stakeholders can fill one role or many roles can be maintained by one stakeholder
Responsible and accountable fo execution of BA activities
Sometimes responsible for performing activitiesthat fall under another stakeholder role
Customer
Uses or may use products or services produced by the enterprise and may have contractual or moral rights that enterprise is obliged to meet
Domain Subject Matter Expert
Have in-depth knowledge of a topic relevant to business need or solution scope
Often filled by end users or people with knowledge of the solution such as managers, process owners, legal staff, consultants
End User
Directly interact with solution
Can include all participantsin a business process or who use product/solution
Implementation Subject Matter Expert
Has specialized knowledge regarding implementation of one or more solution components
For example change manager, developer, information architect, usability analyst
Operational Support/Product Analyst/Help Desk
Project Manager/Project Lead/Team Leader
Regulator/Government/Auditor
Sponsor/Executive Sponsor
Supplier/Provider/Vendor
Tester/ QA Analyst
Responsible for determinig how to verify that solution meets requirements defined by BAand conducting verification process
Seek to ensure that solution meets applicable qualitystandards and risk of defects or failure is understood and minimized
Outside boundary of organization, provide product or services to organization and may have contractual or moral rights and obligations that must be considered
Responsible for initiating the effort to define a business need and develop a solution that meets that need
They authorize work to be performed and control budget and scope for initiative
Responsible for definition and enforcement of standards imposed on solution through legislation, corporate governance standards, audit standards or standards defined by organizational centers of competency
Responsible for managing work required to deliver solution that meets a business need and ensuring that project's objective are met while balancing project factors (scope, budget, risk, schedule, rescources, quality)
Responsible for day-to-day management and maintenance of system or product
