Museum
Institution housing collections of valuable objects of artistic or scientific interest, conserved, preserved and displayed for the educational and enjoyment of the public
Differ in their sources of financial support, which may be private, municipal, state, national, or a combination.
Archive
A building, facility. or area that houses the non-current records of organizations, governments, universities, corporate bodies, individuals (also known as repository). Archive originated from a Greek work "Achion" meaning repository of Official Records.
A place where a collection of historical valuable records, ranging from papers and documents (includes manuscript) to films, videotapes and sound recording are preserved store and managed. Such records or document that have been recognized containing administrative, legal and fiscal value are also kept.
Non current record, value, needed for future, normally unpublished records, permanent, enduring or continuing value.
The document are preserved as a historical, informational, legal, or evidential record, permanently or for a finite or indefinite period of time.
Records in the form of files less than 25 years old, that are yet to become archives.
Classified archival materials which have not been down graded by the creating agencies
