Using a wet baby washcloth or finger, rub the surfaces of her mouth (gums, cheeks, roof of mouth, and the tongue) with light strokes for 20 seconds. While doing this, sing or talk to her while you complete this routine at least once per day. This will provide her with positive oral input. It also contributes to improving the tolerance of touch inside of her mouth (Boop, 2017). This also relates to the sensory integration frame of reference since it is addressing texture aversion.
Grading up: firm strokes for a whole 30 seconds. This will be a prolonged sensory stimulus, which will challenge Brook. Grading down, just the finger and light strokes for only 10 second increments. This is less invasive than the firmer pressure and longer duration.
