Finding a job as a foreigner in Taiwan isn't easy, since being able to speak fluent Mandarin is a requirement for most jobs.
Taiwan has a low employment rate of 3.6%, but it presents job opportunities for everyone.

The conflict between China and Japan centuries ago brought mass destruction to Taiwan. Majority of Taiwanese people lived in poverty and 60% lived off of farming. But now, Taiwan gained its wealth back and in 2019, its GPD (Gross Domestic Product) broke $1.2 trillion.

Taiwan has about 23.57 million current citizens. Taiwan is overpopulated for its small land space. It is also the world's most densely populated nation.

SCHOOLING AND EDUCATION

The curriculum in Taiwanese public schools is much harder and less flexible than average schools in New Zealand.
Taiwan's is one of Asia's most popular destinations to study. Plenty of graduated students get good jobs, good pay, and get into quality Universities.
English is taught in Taiwan, but after a certain year, it is an optional subject. Math is the most commonly chosen subject in high school.
CRIME
On the whole, Taiwan is fairly safe to foreigners. Crime against foreigners is rare, and violent crimes and incidents against foreigners are extremely rare.
In general, crime is considered moderate, but issues still remain. The most violent crime incidents are food adulteration, bombing, assassination attempts, hostage crisis, murder etc.

HOW COMFORTABLE?

Taiwan has an extremely high quality of life, with great food, healthcare, schooling, and extremely convenient transportation.
There is subway and railway transport everywhere in Taiwan, this makes transportation cheap and convienent.
Some cons in Taiwan are that some places are overcrowded, driving is a bit dangerous, and Taiwan apartments aren't too modern and are generally rather small in comparison to New Zealand housing.
POLITICAL
LAWS
The president and the government are responsible with the COMING UP of new laws. The current President of Taiwan is Tsai Ing-wen.
The higher ups in the police department are responsible for ENFORCING the law in Taiwan, as well as being responsible for crime prevention and the protection of lives.
Taiwan and New Zealand laws have many differences. A Taiwan law that commonly confuses and frustrates New Zealand migrants/immigrants is to drive on the right side of the road instead of the left side.
COMMUNISM?
Taiwan is a democratic country, but China is a communist country.

In Taiwan's legislative elections, each voter casts one ballot for their district and another for at-large seats.

In Taiwan, The summers are hot, oppressive, and overcast; the winters are cool, windy, and partly cloudy; and it is wet year round.
Taiwan is not as clean and green as New Zealand, some cities in Taiwan struggle with dangerous levels of air, water, and noise pollution.

Covid-19 in Taiwan is under control. There hasn't been a single lockdown in Taiwan due to Covid, ever.
Under the law, Taiwan citizens are expected to wear masks when outside at all times, on transport, at stores, etc.
