ACTION: By teaching with SEL (Social Emotional Learning) in mind, we create a safe and affirming learning environment for students to feel valued and heard.

ACTION: By creating a student centered learning environment and personalizing learning, students are able to access the curriculum at any level.

ACTION: Keeping SEL as a defining characteristic of our classroom, students can engage with the content without fears that their mistakes will define them.

The end goal should be mastery of concepts and making connections.
Students learn at different paces, by having an end date on an assessments has the message that mastery has a deadline.
The focus needs to be on the student's growth, not their percentage.
There should be a variety of teaching strategies implemented in a classroom
Varied strategies and interventions need to fit the student not the whole
Students need to have feedback and be held accountable for their learning
Students need to collaborate with each other to make deeper connections with other courses.
ACTION: When students are able to learn and move at their own pace, they will be able to assess and show mastery of skills at their own time rather than my time table.
