5E Model
Explain: Provides opportunities to connect previous experiences with current learning and to make conceptual sense of the main ideas of the topic being studied.
Elaborate: Students apply or extend previously introduced concepts and experiences to new situations. Students apply their knowledge to real world applications.
Explore: Provides students time to think, plan, investigate, and organize collected information.
Evaluate: Students, with their teachers, review and assess what they have learned and how they have learned it. Students may demonstrate.
Do students only assess their learning in this stage or are they able to track it with teachers through out the 5E model?
Engage: Activities that capture the students’ attention, stimulate thinking, and help access prior knowledge.
Does this type of model take time to implement and get students motivated to explore, ask questions, etc.
