SPRING
To learn how to draw the eye and face using proportions, learn how to use shading
SUMMER
look at different artists and the way in which they capture the portraits of the subjects

Golnaz Afraz 1981, Tehran, Iran
She was born in Tehran in 1981 and now lives in France. She attended the University of Azad in Tehran for her undergraduate studies in painting. She has also received two Masters of Arts in Fine Art - from the University of Tarbiat Modarres in Tehran and the University of Strasbourg in France. She has participated in several solo and joint exhibitions in Europe and Asia since 2005, including Art Paris at the Grand Palais in Paris
SPRING
Children will be developing their drawing skills which will lead to a well-prepared observational drawing of the human eye. Children will be applying techniques such as: patterns, lines and shape. A collage of the human eye will then be planned, made and evaluated by their peers
the children in their rough journals will practice drawing every individual feature: do a 'speed drawing' session where they draw eachother's noses ets
have them try and create a whole face
using modeling clay make shapes in pairs and practice drawing them

use videos which detail how to use shade to make 3d images
SPRING
Children will be looking at artists work on sketching buildings. Children will focus on the work of Hazel Williams: ‘Forty Hall’ as inspiration and recreate this image using a building of their choice

SUMMER
Children will be looking at watercolour landscape art this term. They will use famous artists such as Van Gogh for inspiration and base their image from one of the two locations studied in Geography.
