-
Tone
-
End of the poem is hopeful - 'Here to make you believe in life' one day the 'minor role' will become the 'star part'
Structure and Technique
6 stanzas - 1 line at the end pf the poem
- Each stanza is a different part of the speaker's routine and role
- 1 line = she dropped all of her roles and is now just herself (1 role - 1 person)
Enjambment the whole way through represents the connection between all of her roles and that there isn't a distinction between them
Listing throughout when describing everyday routine. Cycle of one thing after another, switching from one task to the next, trying to distract herself from reality. It is almost overwhelming and suffocating to read the endless list of things she does - symbol of her the speaker feels smothered and overwhelmed by her illness.
