Definition: Taking action based on research and researching the action taken
Purpose: The objective of this research is to identify the specific problems/issues and come up with suitable solutions to resolve the problems
Used in variety of settings: schools, hospitals, community agencies, government unit etc.
There are 4 phase in AR; 1.Planning, 2. Action, 3. Analysis, 4. Reflect
Inquiry:identify an area of the focused problem (experience/ perceptions)
Test
Literature review:may include review of literature to identify and limit the topic
Experiment:clarify the research questions of the study
Data collection:the method used to gather data/information related to the study
Researcher can collect either qualitative data / quantitative data OR combination of quali & quanti data
Strategies to collect data including experiencing, enquiring, examining
Synthesize & analyze the data
Develop an action plan
Sharing and communicating the results
Reflecting on the process
Understand the nature of problem developed
Communicate/report the information to others
