Interim/Benchmark: Interim/benchmark assessments are used to see where students are in their learning and determine if they are on track with their learning to do well on future assessments.

Formative
Definition: Formative assessments are the process of gathering evidence of student learning in order to modify and adjust instruction.
Self Assessment: Give your rubric to your students and have them identify their strengths and weaknesses.
Exit slips: The students will be given a new prompt daily and asked to write for a minute. Such prompts will include: "What are three things you learned, two things you’re still curious about, and one thing you don’t understand? " "What I found interesting about this work was... " and "Today was hard because... "
Summative
Definition: Summative Assessments are used to evaluate student learning at the end of a unit, illustrate the end of a large chunk of learning. A high-quality assessment.
Oral Tests: Oral summative assessments are used to get real-time and spontaneous responses from learners at the end of a course. The instructor can embrace structured, semi-structured, or unstructured interview methods to grade the students and evaluate their overall performance. Students may also partake in oral classroom presentations.
Group Projects: Getting students to execute tasks within small groups is a great way to test their knowledge. After a training on teamwork and conflict resolution, for instance, you should group the students, assign a task and watch how they create frameworks and solve a specific problem.
Diagnostic
Definition: Diagnostic assessments are pretests. They usually serve as a barometer for how much pre-loaded information a student has about a topic.
Running Records: A running record is a method of assessing a child's reading level that is specific to the Reading Recovery approach to remedial reading instruction.
KWL Chart: A KWL table, or KWL chart, is a graphical organizer designed to help in learning. The letters KWL are an acronym, for what students, in the course of a lesson, already know, want to know, and ultimately learn.
Performance:
Definition: is a form of testing that requires students to perform a task rather than select an answer from a ready-made list.
Portfolios: When students create a portfolio of their written work that shows how they have progressed from the beginning to the end of class. The writing in a portfolio can be from any discipline or a combination of disciplines.
Presentation: Students may choose to add in visual aids or a PowerPoint presentation or Google Slides to help illustrate elements in their speech. Presentations work well across the curriculum as long as there is a clear set of expectations for students to work with from the beginning.
