:star: Formative
Definition: A form of ongoing assessment that allows teachers to provide immediate feedback to enhance students learning while obtaining feedback on instruction.
Examples
THINK-PAIR-SHARE: Teacher poses a question related to the content. Students then think about their response based on their newly gained knowledge, then they partner up and discuss/share ideas on the question.
Thumbs up Thumbs down: Students will raise their thumbs up if they agree with a comment/statement the teacher makes or the student shows a thumbs down if they disagree.
EXIT TICKETS: At the end of the day students reflect on learning based on the TEKS covered. Students will need to answer/solve the problem based on the learned skills and strategies. OR discuss their understanding by making real world connections.

Definition: Summative Assessments are high stake meaning, students expectations are higher due to the assessments high point performance value. Students are usually assessed at the end of a unit or year to measure their academic performance and overall mastery.

Final Project: Students completion of a final project in any content area assess their overall understanding of the content at the end of a unit.

Definition: Diagnostic assessments are those that help measure students abilities based on strengths and weaknesses. These assessments help plan instruction to target student misconceptions.

Phonics inventory: measures students ability to decode words based on letter to sound correspondence and other literacy skills.

Definition: Are assessments that go beyond answering questions. In performance assessments the students are completing a task that involves them incorporating content knowledge.
One pager: Based on a topic, students will need to fill the page with images, quotes, examples, and sentences that connect with the given topic.
Story Map: : Students will complete a story map based on a given text .The story map will assess students ability to identify the story elements,
