Summative
Definition: Summative assessments are used to see what the student has learned. Summative assessments are used by the teacher to determine what the student has mastered and what is next to learn.**
Six week project: students will complete a six week project to conclude the learning from the units learned.**

Formative
Definition: Formative assessments are assessments for learning. Used to guide instruction by teacher,. These assessments are very low stake.
Exit Ticket: students will write on a piece of paper what is one thing they learned and one question they still have about the lesson**

Performance
Definition: A Performance assessment requires students to create a product or apply knowledge to a higher order thinking skill.**

Graph: Student will create a graph that applies the knowledge learned at the end of the science lesson**
Interim/Benchmark
Definition: assessments given to students throughout the year to keep track of their growth and progress. Will determine if students are on track based on their learning**
MAP: students complete a computer assessment to determine what they have learned at the beginning, middle and end of the year.**
Benchmark: Students complete benchmarks in order for teacher to identify their learning gaps and growth throughout the grade level **
Diagnostic
Definition: A Diagnostic assessment is used to measure a students specific strengths and weaknesses. **
Pretest: Students will complete a pretest at the beginning of a new chapter to determine what they already know**
KWL Organizer: Students will complete a KWL chart as we are working through a lesson to determine their strengths prior to the lesson. **
