Formative
Definition: Formative assessments is the process in which teachers are able to measure the students learning throughout the unit.
Exit Slips: Students will answer a question at the end of the lesson before leaving at the end of the class.
Individual Whiteboards: At the end of the lesson the students will be asked a question and they will have to write their answer on the whiteboard individually.
Interim/Benchmark
Definition: Interim/Benchmark are assessments where the students demonstrate their growth throughout the year.

Summative
Definition: Is an assessment that is given at the end of the year, unit, course, semester, and school year to evaluate student academic achievement.
Chapter Tests: The test will be based on the chapter that the students have been learning about in class.
Final Exams: Are exams given at the end of a semester to measure the students knowledge that they learned through the entire semester.
Performance
Definition: Is a form of testing that requires the students to do a task and not just answer questions from a list.
Open-Ended Questions: Are questions that students can answer in a open text format using their knowledge and understanding of the task.
Student Logs: Documentation of students homework, activities, and reading logs.
Diagnostic
Definition: Demonstrates what the students know about a certain topic before learning about the topic.
Pre-test: Has questions that are related to the new topic that they will be learning about. This will show what they know about the new topic.
KWL Chart: Is a chart where the student will fill out what they want to know, what they want to learn, and what they learned.
