Students will pretend to become journalist and create two newspaper articles. One article will be a summary about a traditional United States Halloween celebration that they witnessed and are reporting on. The other one will be a summary about the celebration of Dias De Los Muertos in Mexico that they witnessed and are reporting on. Both articles must contain 2 visuals each.

Definition: Benchmark assessments are used to establish as students baseline achievement and then use that baseline to measure progress toward an academic goal. This type of assessment is to understand if students have mastered specific standards and are ready to move on.

Students will complete a Near-pod with collaboration boards and open ended questions on Dias De Los Muertos.
Students will write a letter to someone in the United states explaining what it would look like, smell like, taste like, and feel like to be in Mexico celebrating Dias De Los Muertos.
