Assessments
Summative
Assessments used to help determine a specific point of what the student knows and does not know. The goal is to evaluate the student's learning at the end of their instructional unit and evaluating it to their specific grade state standards.
State assessments, End-of-unit tests, End-of-term exams, SAT/ACT
Performance
Assessments that help demonstrate the student's skills and learning material that they've learned. They help measure how the students applies and uses what they've leaarned in real-world situations.

Formative
Assessments that are part of the instructional process. They are used throughout the entire learning course, to help identify the students learning gaps and improve their learning. Specifically approaches that support their individual learning needs.

Diagnostic
Assessments that help provide thourough information about the student's skills in a specific domain.

Interim/Benchmark
A combination of assessments between formative and summative. They are used to evaluate the students learning progress and if they are meeting their specific grade-level standards and learning.
