GRID
GRID as an overlay
Always need to pay attention to semi-blocked paths and not to allow a player to go there.
Independent from the dungeon model
Hard to separate walkable from non-walkable
GRID as blocks
3D dungeon needs to be created with blocks (or at least the walkable parts)
Easier to tell the code when a square is unpassable or has any other detail.
Use a white plane. Hide it when not being used. When walking, show it and change material as needed.
Camera
Singleplayer
Can be rotated 90 degrees (has 4 positions around player)
Multiplayer
Gets wider when players are getting apart, closer when together. Splits in two when too far apart.
Time Manager
Time is measured in turns. A turn takes 10 seconds (and 3 stamina).
Random Room Generator
Floors are created with GRID in various shapes and walls are created as impassable limits with free 3D design freedom around the floors.
Fog of War
Light and FOW work together if light has the FOW script. This allows for ambient lights to exist but not affect the floor cells (floor cells need to always be dark if the dungeon is dark).
Buttons
Buttons are almost always held, especially if their action occupies 1 or X turns.
Hold 1s for 1st turn, 0.8 for 2nd turn, 0.6 for 3rd, 0.4s is the limit.
