The feudalism lasted long because it was very organized and stabilized. Everything was protect so there were prepare for anything like invasions

Manorial System
Peasants/ Freeman:
- They were freemen and skilled workers
- They paid the rent where they lived and could leave the mansion whenever they wanted.
Serfs:
- They did not have freedom
- They belonged to the nobles
- They worked in the lands under the rules of the nobles

Lord`s role:
- The role of the lord is to bring protection and loyalty to the vassal.
- The Lord also gave the Vassal food, military aid and protect his family
Vassal`s role:
- The role of the vassal was to help the Lord in the battles fields and working for him. And also to contribute money if needed.
- The Vassal also to contribute money if needed.
The feudal contract is the relationship between the Lord and the Vassal. It consists in the mutual help between them.
