Mortality rate is high, effects mostly the younger population
- Certain areas in Africa over time may have drastically skewed demographics in their population, fewer younger workers could mean less labour and make it hard for the economy to grow
High mortality rate means the infectious rates are not as high and the disease is mostly centralized in Sub Saharan Africa.
- However, this may mean that other countries are less likely to feel a need to invest in the creation of a vaccine or invest in preventative measures for the African population.
This is because they do not have very active immunity and are only given antibodies from their mothers in the womb
