Psychodynamic Theory
The first school of psychology, created by Sigmund Freud and created the discipline of psychology
Despite its popularity, and the fact that it created the discipline of psychology, most aspects of the theory have been proven incorrect
Psychodynamics is broken up into the conscious and unconscious mind. Everything you think, know, and everything you imagine is your conscious mind, while the unconscious mind is everything you do without thinking
Psychodynamic theory also breaks down the Id, Ego, and Superego. The Id is the human desire as it exists in the subconscious. The ego is the rational conscious part of the mind that balances impulses and pleasure, and the superego is the part of the mind that thinks of others, morality, and duty.
