important to have a punchy introduction

this should include:

incredibly excited

really understand the course

middle paragraph

this should include

the chunky bit/the most writing

full of all the evidence that you are going to need to prove your interest in a particular course

sprinkle in some bits about your skills and good qualities

the final paragraph

this should include

the 'personal touch'

show them that you are unique

tell them about the things that your are interested in that will help you to fit into university life as a whole

what do you avoid?

verbal diarrhoea-you've got to keep focused

you haven't got enough space to go 'off piste'

make sure that you are being relevant about the course that you are applying for (REALLY IMPORTANT)

AVOID SHOWING OFF

don't be arrogant

avoid flowery language and keep it to plain english
