PATHOPHYSIOLOGY
. The tissue of the appendix gets infected by bacteria and pus accumulates, the blood gets impaired and the appendix could rupture

This occurs when the opening of the appendix to the large intestine gets blocked by feces, tumors, helminths or indigestible substances
PERTINENT FINDINGS
appendicitis may start as pain in the epigastric region or around the umbilicus which then moves to the lower quadrant
Usual symptoms on appendicitis include pain a the McBurney point, elevated temperature, nausea and vomiting.
Patient may feel pain when straightening their leg and will have a hip flexion position to avoid it.
