appendicitis may start as pain in the epigastric region or around the umbilicus which then moves to the lower quadrant

Usual symptoms on appendicitis include pain a the McBurney point, elevated temperature, nausea and vomiting.

Patient may feel pain when straightening their leg and will have a hip flexion position to avoid it.
