The UHI effects affects frost and snow, as the amount of rain in the city is often more than in surrounding countryside,
Convectional Uplift is when warm, moist air rises.
The UHI effect o[acts rainfall in urban areas, as snow does not stay long. It melt quicker and there are fewer days of frost.
Wind
Average wind speed is usually lower in cities than rural areas because tall buildings create friction that slows down the moving air.
Turbulence around buildings happens when wind hits the face of a building- some is deflected down and some around the sides and tops.
Vortices are bodies of swirling air, caused by winds hitting other buildings or the ground.

Urban surfaces have a low albedo, meaning they absorb lots of energy instead of reflecting it.
Condensation nuclei is when particles of dust and pollution floating about in the air acts as condensation nuclei.
