South America, extends from the Gulf of Darien (Panama) in the northwest to the archipelago of Tierra de Fuego (Argentina) in the south.

ORINOCO RIVER BASIN
It has about 948.00 km2, and flows north of the Amazon from the Guyana plateau of northern Brazil to flow its waters to the Atlantic. The main biome is a vast savanna known as the Llanos. This biome is the habitat of birds such as the umbrella bird, different species of fish such as the piranha and the electric eel.

COASTAL PLAINS
A coastal plain is a low, flat land near the coast. In South America, coastal plains are found in the northeast of Brazil, on the Ecuadorian coast, and in the western part of the Peruvian and Chilean coasts. These plains are dry or humid and influenced by the Humboldt current

THE ANDES MOUNTAINS
The Andes mountain range is the longest in the world. It is about 8,850 km long and runs parallel to the Pacific from the extreme south to the extreme north of the subcontinent on its western side. It is formed by plateaus, highlighting the Altiplano of Peru and Bolivia. Likewise, it is made up of inter-Andean valleys of Ecuador. The Patagonia region of Argentina and Chile is made up of glaciers and steep, lower elevation plateaus.
Outside of the Andes, the two main high-altitude areas are in Brazil and Guyana.
